Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

SmartField is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data:

• Account information: Email address and company name when you sign up.
• Usage analytics: Number of encrypted fields, page loads (aggregated, anonymized).
• Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We never see your card number.

2. What We DO NOT Collect

SmartField never collects, stores, transmits, or has access to:

• Passwords, credit card numbers, or any data typed into SmartField components
• Encryption keys (generated and stored on YOUR server)
• User personal data from your customers
• Screen recordings, keystrokes, or behavioral data

This is by design, not by policy. Our architecture makes it technically impossible for us to access your users' data.

3. Encryption Architecture

All encryption keys are generated on your server using our SDK. The private key never leaves your infrastructure. SmartField (the company) has zero access to decryption keys. If our servers were compromised, no user data could be exposed because we don't have any.

4. Third-Party Services

• Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• CDN: SmartField.js is served via CDN for performance. No user data passes through the CDN.

5. Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

• Authentication: Session cookie for dashboard login.
• Preferences: Theme, language settings.

We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics on our website.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon deletion, all data is removed within 30 days. Since we don't store user data from SmartField components, there is nothing to delete on our end.

7. GDPR Compliance

SmartField is designed to help you comply with GDPR. Our architecture ensures that personal data is encrypted at the point of entry and only accessible by your server. We act as a processor (providing the tool), not a controller (we don't process personal data).

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your account data. Contact us at info@smartfield.dev.

9. Changes

We'll notify you of material changes to this policy via email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
